The Best Products for Your Skincare Routine in Your 30s

The Best Products for Your Skincare Routine in Your 30s

by on

There are plenty of skin products out there that claim to give you the best when it comes to lotions and cleansers. A lot of them have confusing names and uses too. Cleanser? Serum? I know I was lost when I started my beauty routine. Luckily, I got them straightened out, and you can read up on the differences here.

Now that I’m in my 30s, skincare talk is a bit more serious than my teens. I work hard, so sometimes it shows on my face. That means I need some gentle and effective products to help out my complexion. I’ve tried a lot of them out, and I’m glad to give out my reviews on my favorite skin products from my skincare routine!

Skin cleansers

I use a cleanser twice a day: once in the morning before I leave for work, and once at night before I go to bed. Pro tip: choose something fragrance free, so it won’t bother sensitive skin. Here are some of my picks.

skin

Whenever I have a long day, my makeup feels it too. It gets greasy and smudgy. Thankfully, Philosophy’s cleanser melts away all my face and eye makeup in one simple step. Plus, it keeps my skin hydrated too. BUY IT HERE

TruSkin’s vitamin C  formula cleans deep within my pores, and it’s really good at getting out the eye shadow my makeup wipes leave behind. Plus, the oregano, orange peel, and tea tree scents can’t be beat. BUY IT HERE

skin

I love it when a product does exactly what it’s supposed to do. This one says “Refresh,” and goodness does it refresh! This cleanser moisturizes my skin and exfoliates too. Some cleansers leave my skin a bit raw, but not Kalame. BUY IT HERE

Toner

A toner is the final, final step in my nightly face-cleansing routine, after I use my cleanser for the second time (at night). Whatever my cleansers and moisturizers leave behind, my toner is there to pick it up.

Serum

Serum is a skincare product you can apply to your skin after you use a cleanser but before a moisturizer. These are super potent, so make sure your skin is cleansed so you can get the most out of them. Here are three serums I’ve tried and like.

Serumtologie vitamin C serum 22 (1.15 oz.) — $35.00 on Amazon

I love anything with citrus in it, and Serumtologie’s vitamin C gives me my fix and a lot more. It won’t leave my sensitive skin feeling blotchy either. BUY IT HERE

Eye cream

My mom always told me that to make something into a habit, you have to do it until it sticks. Same goes with eye creams. I’m not at the age where I see significant crow’s feet yet, but with eye creams, I’m prepping my skin so that day comes later rather than sooner. Here are my favorite eye cream routimnes.

SkinCeuticals physical eye UV defense, SPF 50 (10ml)

The best times of my teens were when I got to wear masks at sleepovers and watch TV until 3 am. Now that I’m a little older, watching TV all night is impossible, but I still manage a mask every now and then to clean my pores. I also recently jumped on the activated charcoal wagon! If you’re totally skeptical, let me tell you: activated charcoal works wonders. Here are my picks for masks, including two charcoal-based ones.
