  1. First, you want to smooth your hair with a gentle brush.
  2. Then, take a thin section of hair from the side of your head and make a very thin braid. Repeat the process on the other side of your head.
  3. Secure them well with tiny, clear polybands.
  4. Now, cross them on the back of the head and join them together underneath the remaining hair. This makes a mid-ponytail.
  5. Secure the tiny ponytail with a clear polyband and then hide it under the large ponytail.

Now, you have a micro-braid ponytail, which is one of our favorite hairstyles for bridesmaids! Watch the video if you need a better idea of the handwork you’ll need.

  2. Now open the left side ponytail and pass the middle ponytail through it.
  3. Then do it again by opening the right side and passing it all the way through the joined ponytail.
  4. Adjust it by making it tighter, and gently cinch the hair at the tie to create more volume.

TIP for hairstyles for bridesmaids if you have shorter hair: You can curl your hair to have a wavy look before starting the process!

  4. Join the braids into one and secure them with a band. Then open the hole between the joined braids and pass the ponytail through it, so the joined parts remain underneath.

  1. Start by gathering the hair into 2 sections.
  2. Fold the whole length of the hair to make a mid-high braid. Then secure the end with a polyband. Then, repeat to the other side.
  3. Use your fingers to open the braids to create more volume. And then take the end of each braid and fold them on themselves and secure the braids with a polyband.
  4. Now, you should have two “holes,” to put one braid in the other braided hole.
  5. Adjust and twist/fold the flat braid inside out and secure it with the bobby pins (as many as needed).

Once you have the chignon adjusted and secured, you can add flowers or hair accessories that match your dress!

  • Start by brushing the hair out until it’s smooth and shiny.
  • Then, on the back, use the tail of your comb to make separate sections and strands.
  • Now, use your flat iron to make some curls along the length, and then gently roll the sections of hair around the iron. Wait about 10 seconds to let the curls form and then let them fall and cool for a loose, natural look.
  • Now take a section from the side and curl it, placing the curl in the center. (TIP: You can place hairspray on the curl if you want some extra hold.)
  • Now, secure it to the back in a half-crown using some bobby pins. Then, repeat this on the other side.

If you want to add some pretty elements, you can add flowers or accessories that match the wedding theme!
