  1. Take your gift-wrapping paper, making sure it’s 8×8 inches.

2. Fold your paper in half to create a triangle shape and unfold it back to its original state, leaving a crease.

3. Repeat “Step 2” with the opposite corners of your paper.

4. Take 1 corner of your paper and fold it to the center point of your creases. Repeat this for all 4 corners. Unfold it back to the original state.

5. Again, fold 1 corner to the opposite corner for a horizontal crease. Unfold it back to the original state. Repeat this for all 4 corners.

6. Take the bottom of your gift-wrapping paper, fold it to about an inch, and unfold it back to its original state. Repeat for all sides of your paper.

2. Baby Bird Box – Origami Box Gift Wrapping

What You Will Need:

Instructions:

  1. Take your gift-wrapping paper, making sure it’s 8×8 inches.
  2. Fold your paper in half to create a triangle shape and unfold it back to the original state, leaving a crease.
  3. Repeat “Step 2” with the opposite corners of your paper.
  4. Take 1 corner of your paper and fold it to the center point of your creases. Repeat this for all 4 corners.
  5. Flip the box shape over, go around all 4 sides of your box shape, and press your finger over the sides, smoothing out the paper.
  6. Fold your box shape into 3 parts, creating creases and unfolding it.

Finishing It

  1. With your current box shape, start folding 4 triangles (created from our last creases) in the center of your box.
  2. Flip the box over again and fold 1 end over, creating a crease. Repeat this on the other end of your box shape.
  3. Turn your box back over, and your creases should create a tic-tac-toe-like shape. Flip your box back over and fold each corner towards the center square creases.
  4. Turn your box back over and fold the top end towards the middle crease, doing the same with the bottom end. Then, take each side and fold them in also, leaving you with a little square. Unfold all back to the original shape.
  5. Take the bottom corner and fold towards the first crease. Fold again, meeting the next crease, and again. Repeat on the other side.
  6. You should be left with 2 corners unfolded. Taking the bottom 1, fold it towards the first crease. Fold again, meeting slightly UNDER the next crease.
  7. Unfold and fold again, meeting the second crease we just created. Then, take the corner of the paper and bring the line halfway to the edge. Folding your corner behind the paper, bring the crease halfway beyond the edge.
  8. Repeat “Step 12” and “Step 13” on the other side.
  9. Fold your shape into 3 parts, meeting the existing creases.
