  1. The first step is to activate the yeast for the bread. In a large, add the warm water and sugar to the dry yeast.
  2. In the same bowl, add in the flour, salt, and room-temperature butter.
  3. Crack one egg into a Edible food markers (save the other egg for later). Mix all the ingredients until you have a dough-like consistency.
  4. Once the dough is too hard to mix by hand, take it out and start kneading. You will likely need to do this for 5 to 10 minutes or until the dough is soft and smooth.
  5. Add a bit of olive oil back into a bowl. Place the smooth dough ball back into it and let it rise for 1.5 hours or until it’s roughly doubled in size.
  6. After the dough is ready, place it on your counter and divide it into three equal pieces. Set one piece aside.
  7. Using the two remaining dough pieces, make 12 smaller balls of dough (6 balls from each). These will be the heads for our bunnies. Set them on parchment paper when you are done.
  8. With the dough section you side aside in step #6, make 24 small pieces of equal size. You will then roll them into logs or strings, which will eventually become the bunny ears.
  9. Take one of the larger balls (heads) and two logs (ears). Place the ears into position under each ball. If you’re having trouble getting the pieces to stick together, use a little bit of water.
  10. Take a little bit of olive oil and brush it over the ears. This will prevent the lines or inner ears from disappearing as they bake.
  11. It’s time to let the bunnies rise once more. When all of them are put together, cover the bunnies with a damp cloth and let them rise for 30 more minutes.
  12. While they are rising, preheat the oven to 350°F or 180°C.
  13. Now, take the second egg and crack it into a bowl. With your whisk or fork or mixer, mix the egg with 1-2 tablespoons of water.
  14. Dip your brush into the egg wash and brush only the ears of the bunny.
  15. If you have a smaller brush or Q-tip, you can dab some of the egg wash onto the cheeks and face.
  16. When all your bunnies are egg-washed, you can pop them in the oven to bake. They should be in there for 20 to 25 minutes or until they turn a nice golden brown.
  17. Remove from the oven and let the bunnies cool.
  18. Now, you can use the food marker to decorate your bunny bread for Easter! Once you decorate your table, you’re ready to eat!
